On November 10, the Executive Committee of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”) signed a framework cooperation agreement with HEC Group. According to the agreement, the deep processing and transformation base of Cordyceps sinensis has settled in Hengqin. It is expected that in five years, the output value will reach at least 10 billion.

Li Ziwei, director of the Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone, and Tang Xinfa, general manager of HEC Group, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. According to the framework cooperation agreement, the first phase of HEC Group will be stationed in the Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park, focusing on the development of the research and development, production, processing and sales industry chain system of deep-processing products of different dosage forms of Cordyceps sinensis breeding products.

Recently, the Cooperation Zone issued “Several Measures for the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone to Support the High-Quality Development of the Biomedical Health Industry”. A series of preferential policies are very attractive for enterprises to settle in Hengqin.
“At present, we are stepping up the construction of related R&D and processing sites in Hengqin. In the initial stage, the group planned to put Cordyceps sinensis lozenges in Hengqin for R&D and production. It is expected that after five years, the output value will be at least 10 billion.” Tang Xinfa said.

Li Ziwei said that in response to the pain points such as the high cost of cross-border logistics encountered by the enterprise’s landing and development, the Economic Development Bureau will step up research and promote optimization solutions as soon as possible. Recently, a number of industrial support policies in the Cooperation Zone have been implemented one after another, and we are also striving to introduce leading enterprise support policies and special preferential policies for Macao before the end of the year. It is hoped that the industrial policy system of the cooperation zone will be slowly established within this year, combined with the double 15% tax preferential policy, as well as the talent policy that will be introduced in the future. Through the “combination boxing” method, it will attract more enterprises to settle in Hengqin and radiate to Macao, and through the linkage and integrated development of Hengqin and Macao, it will truly play a role in promoting the moderate and diversified development of Macao’s economy.
According to reports, HEC Group was established in 1997 and has the “State Key Laboratory of New Anti-Infective Drugs” certified by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is a first-class pharmaceutical company in China. Relying on the “Key Laboratory of Cordyceps sinensis Breeding and Product Research and Development” certified by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the group has realized the industrialization of Cordyceps sinensis ecological breeding, and won the first prize for scientific and technological progress in Guangdong Province.
